Govt finances better than expected      The Government's fiscal position for the 11 months to the end of May was better than expected, with tax revenues slightly ahead of forecast and spending slightly below.  More.

Landcorp confirms bid for Crafar properties    
State-owned Landcorp Farming has thrown its hat into the ring to buy 16 farms from the receivers of the Crafar empire.  Landcorp chief executive Chris Kelly said the board supported a recommendation by management to place a bid for the farms.  More.

Kiwibank follows rivals with big mortgage rate cuts     Kiwibank, which let its rivals in cutting two-year fixed home loan rates last week, has now followed them by reducing its three, four and five year rates.  More.
